Field Computer Technician Apprentice

Do you have a skill for problem solving, & experience repairing computers or networks? Technologist Computers is looking for you!  We are currently seeking qualified service technicians. Job Duties include but are not limited to, field service calls, on-site service work, maintenance of computer or network equipment. Applicant must be able to lift 40 lbs on regular basis. Applicant must have a valid drivers license, & vehicle.

PAY: Starting at $22-$25 per hour.

Full-time position.

In this role, you will successfully diagnose, document, and repair defective systems based on requests submitted by our customers. As a Computer Hardware Repair Technician, you save the day by repairing devices in a timely manner and up to our high standards. Using your excellent problem-solving skills, you perform root cause analysis and elevate problems to your supervisor as needed. Hiring Process

  • Phone Interview: Conduct an initial phone interview to evaluate candidates' qualifications.

  • Google Meet Interview: Invite qualified candidates for a virtual interview.

  • Observation: Invite qualified candidates to observe the job in the field to gain better insight.

  • Meeting with the Apprentice: Discuss the apprenticeship program and evaluate interest.

  • Presentation: Give a clear presentation about job requirements, schedule, and important details.

  • Clear Qualification Requirements: Ensure candidates understand the requirements for the apprenticeship.

Job Description

Job Duties include, but are not limited to, field service calls, on-site service work, installation, troubleshooting, maintenance of computers, & network equipment.

Your role as an apprentice consists of three types of experience: 

  • On the Job training: Working directly onsite at client locations, or on client projects.

  • Community Service: Delivering tech support to underserved community members, setup/outreach at community events, delivery of supplies to community members in crisis, etc.

  • Online Training 

Qualifications

  • You must have a personal vehicle that can fit an 8 or 10-foot ladder or be willing to obtain one.

  • A valid driver's license.

  • Passing a background check and drug test.

  • Must be vaccinated or willing to be vaccinated within the first 90 days.

  • Must understand that the schedule varies from week to week and day to day (some nights and weekends are required).

  • Applicant must have a high school degree and 1 year of hardware experience or training, or 2 to 4 year tech related degree or technology bootcamp related certification.
